Back- Finally!!!

So a ton of things happened lately that has made it hard for me to get a posting up! My computer had an unfortunate run-in with a plastic baseball and I just got it back from the geeks today! Hubby is out of town and little man is being a turkey! So I promised pics of the cute purse I made. It is all felt and the handles are strung like necklaces cause that is the only way I could think of to make it work!

Pretty cute, huh! Not bad for not having any clue what I was doing!

I also get further on the little couch. I have to take more pics, but it is uber comfortable for a $30 goodwill find!

Deep thoughts on a Tuesday afternoon........

So I have been thinking about things today. Karl is driving home from a job in Oklahoma (where the wind goes whipping cross the plain- sorry if those aren't the correct words but cannot help but sing that song when i say Oklahoma) and little man is (in his own 4 year old words) "waiting patiently" for daddy to get home. I am so grateful that my boys both love and like each other! I also have been needing to get more organized. 


I went to the doctor yesterday and I have to say that I was impressed with the doctor and the clinic. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and i have never been able to get pregnant. My sweet little man is adopted and that whole experience was an absolute miracle. Maybe one day I will share, but it is pretty special. It has been hard to not have the ability to conceive, but I have come to accept that as a possibility for the rest of my life. However, I am finally ready to try some medical treatments to see if I can get pregnant.  (Little man just asked "ooh can I have  some sugar mom? What??!?!) So we will see!!!


OK, that was a random side note! Back to crafting! I made a pretty stinkin' cute felt purse for my son's preschool teacher. I will add pics in a while, but it was so fun to make!

I am distractible!

So I have a wonderful project to recover the chaise that I got from good will! I have been working at it, see!

But then I got distracted! I got some terrible men's shirts at a new good will close to my home and I had to try  to make a dress like the ones on Made (http://www.dana-made-it.com/) My problem- I don't have a little girl! So i used my little man as much as he would let me and came up with this-

Then i had to make a little somethin' else to go with it!

I can't help myself! I am a distractible person! But i think that it turned out ok! Here is the headband/dress all together!

Oh, and I also worked on painting my sewing desk 

I really am hopeless!
I went to goodwill today with my guys and I found the COOLEST shelf- my next project! (My hubby is rolling his eyes!) Here is a teaser!

First Problem

So i ran into a problem with my new project! I was starting to take part the small cushion on the couch and unzipped the zipper. Inside was not a foam piece- it was just a mass of shredded foam! No wonder the cushion was so uncomfortable! Now I don't quite know what to do! How would I make a new cushion cover without a cushion form? I will send a pic as soon as my camera recharges! Send your ideas, if you have any!

New Project

So i purchased a small chase at goodwill for $30 and I am going to recover it! I am so nervous! I have seen many other craft blogs about it, so I will be using their ideas and tricks. My husband is in New Jersey right now and I am alone with little man so we are having a fun time playing (him playing me sewing!) I hope everyone has done something creative today! If you haven't yet, the day is not over!

A new adventure!

I am actually really excited to have a place to talk about the crafts and crafty things that I so enjoy doing! I am just finishing another semester of college and I wanted to focus on something that I want to do. I have been so inspired by other crafters (craftbloggers) that I decided to start one myself.

So I will be posting some new projects soon as well as asking for tips, tricks, ideas and requests for crafts that we can make together!
